Mr George says Nigerian footballers can do well if they nurture
the young at early stage
It is a game that units people in the world, the passion is drive,
it’s crazy when you see people pay so much money to watch football. Most people
will rather pay to go to a bar if they can’t afford to go live to the stadium where
its happening live than seat in the comfort of their home to watch it.
I love Chelsea, the club has history in signing African
footballers, they believe in African strength for example Didier
Drogba of Ivory Coast,Micheal Essien of Ghana, Michael obi of Nigeria.
England,Italy,Spain,France,Argentina,Brazil,
these are countries we’ve known to produce world best players, the likes of lionel
messi, zinedine zidane, luis figo,in nurturing the young,it is
different how Nigeria showcase our young talent as a case study.
You can’t compare
country like England to Nigeria that the parents recognizes talent of his child
at tender age and they go all out to see that he gets every support and
opportunity to achieve his dream of being a footballer once they see the talent
in the child, whereas, in Nigeria when a child displays such interest as having
football as a career, the child gets scolded for it and they won’t buy the idea
because they see it as waste of time. They prefer if the child is a doctor, lawyer
etc.
We must not rely
on Government for everything. Rich individuals
who have passion for football can create an avenue where young ones can showcase their talent, though
the likes of Ifeanyi Ubi united, is there could ,but there could be more
individuals .
Chelsea is one of
the best football club in the world, it has so many players and coaches. Most
importantly they have a good owner of the club that loves football.
I will say this
in Economic term, Chelsea is under “recession” they are always out there to win,
I love Chelsea because their ultimate goal is to win, although, lately, the
underdog clubs are winning us, but that notwithstanding, we are still the great
club ever.
